Howdy!
My name is Alyssa Byrd and I'm from Austin, Texas. I'm a Senior at Texas A&M University, working toward earning a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology. I'm passionate about workplace safety, process improvement, and manufacturing/assembly processes in the aviation and automotive industries. Both art and engineering are of interest and importance to me, and I try my best to combine them in any work I do. The concept of effective design spans across so many different fields!
The past two summers I had the incredible opportunity to work at Bell Flight in Amarillo, Texas as a Design Liaison Engineering Intern, working alongside MRB Engineers. The summer of 2022 I will be working as a Tooling Engineering Intern at Textron Aviation in Wichita, Kansas.
During the academic year, I work for the Fischer Engineering Design Center as a student machine shop technician.
If you're looking for me on the weekends, I'm probably exploring twisty back roads in my Miata (or fixing it...), working on shop management and manufacturing for Baja SAE, or studying in a coffee shop somewhere.
